What is the difference between a meeting and a webinar?

Updated over a week ago

So what is the difference between a Cloudpresenter meeting and a webinar? The simple answer is none, as every meeting that you create in Cloudpresenter can be configured as a meeting or webinar. The tools you have available in a meeting with two people and a webinar for 1000 people are the same, and the initial set-up process is the same. You are then able to customise the meeting room to suit your use case. For our daily meetings we use a video conferencing style set-up, where everyone is on camera, but when we run events for hundreds of people, the meeting is configured so only presenters are onscreen, and everyone else is watching, asking questions or participating in polls and chat.

Using the New Meeting button in your dashboard, by default this creates a meeting set up in webinar style, meaning that your attendees will not be able to turn their cameras until you allow them to. To do this go to Participants > select participant or all > Give broadcast permission

If you wanted to set your meeting up to work more like Zoom or Teams, and allow your guests to connect automatically with their cameras, then this is easy to do too.

Go to Account Settings > Permissions Available in Session. Now when your attendees join your meeting they can join automatically with cameras on. If you wanted to control who gets admitted to your room then you could use the lobby function.
